The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently traveling to the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions on the community.
SASSA will probably be rendering providers for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In an announcement, the agency said it's alarmed with regard to the high number of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The aim from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a superior range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This can be a result of the lack of status sassa infrastructure at Fernie and there is no fully functional office focused on service the area daily. The provider level produced for intervention ordeals a significant inflow of possible beneficiaries, which makes it difficult for that office to attend to all people who visit a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional methods to allow the servicing of all prospects and maximize usage of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
